02 Feb Wearable Technologies Conference
CardioID participated in the Wearable Technologies conference, which took place on January 30-31 in Munich, Germany. The conference also hosted the IOT/WT Innovation World Cup competition, for which we were selected as one of the 33 finalists, out of more than 940 submissions. Following our pitch at the event, we were ultimately crowned as the winner in the Smart Clothing category, a track sponsored by AiQ Smart Clothing.
At this event, we had the opportunity to present our heart-based technology and its multiple applications. This included a solution for lone workers, which uses the heart signal to monitor the general well-being and fatigue status of people working in remote locations. The system also sends man-down alerts to an operations center, through either a direct data connection or a LoRa network, enabling a quicker emergency response in case of an accident.
We also had our solution for bikes on display. Using especially designed conductive rubber, BikeYourHeart enables the measurement of the heart rate without the need to wear uncomfortable equipment, such as chest straps. This project has been developed in collaboration with Ibérica, CEIIA, and FEUP, as part of generation.mobi, a P2020 grant to research and develop new smart mobility paradigms.
The Wearable Technologies conference is part of ISPO Munich, the largest trade fair for sports business, with more than 2,800 exhibitors from segments such as snowsports, outdoor, health and fitness, and teamsports.
