The protection of your personal data is a priority for CARDIOID TECHNOLOGIES, which is why, under Regulation No. 2016/679 of the European Parliament and its Council, of 27 April 2016 (General Data Protection Regulation), we are pleased to introduce you to our Privacy Policy, to keep you informed on the new rules applicable to the processing
of your personal data, rights, as well as to Inform you on how to manage the respective consents.

The rules provided for in this Privacy Policy complement the provisions on the protection and processing of personal data that are provided for in the contracts celebrated with CARDIOID TECHNOLOGIES. This Privacy Policy applies exclusively to the collection and processing of personal data carried out by CARDIOID TECHNOLOGIES, whenever this takes place.

WHO ARE WE?

Your data will be processed by CARDIOID TECHNOLOGIES Lda, a private limited company with headquarters in Av. D. Afonso Henriques, 1825, 4450-017 Matosinhos, NIPC 513 077 634 (hereinafter referred to as CARDIOID).

CARDIOID, through its DPO (DATA PROTECTION OFFICER) is responsible for the processing of your personal data within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as GDPR).

WHAT IS PERSONAL DATA?

Personal data is any information, of any nature and regardless of its support, including sound and image, relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable person is considered to be a person who can be identified directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier, such as a name, an identification number, location data, electronic identifiers or to one or more specific elements of the identity physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social of that natural person.

WHAT KIND OF PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT?

The genesis of CardioID is the analysis of the ECG, which is itself, information of an individual with private nature. Since the acquisition of the ECG, through the construction of electronic devices, programming and analysis of information, to the production of algorithms for interpretation of the acquired data, we give high attention in all matters of security and data privacy.

As part of its activity, CARDIOID will collect and process personal data such as name, phone number and email address. CARDIOID may also collect data necessary for the provision of services, namely the company, job tittle, country, phone number and taxpayer number.

In the same way that we ensure the use of security features in the development of the devices and the data storage environment, we adopt all the measures established in General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679.

WHY DO WE HANDLE YOUR INFORMATION?

Your personal data may be collected and processed by CardioID, for the following purposes:

a) For the fulfillment of legal obligations to which CARDIOID is subject, namely billing for contracted services.
b) For the purposes of executing the contract celebrated with CARDIOID and respective pre-contractual steps, namely customer support, management of the contractual relationship, the provision of goods and services and the adequacy of the services to their needs and interests.
c) For purposes of contact, within the scope of CARDIOID’s marketing strategies, with information and commercial communications during and after the end of the contract.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

Without prejudice to legal, regulatory or judicial determinations to the contrary, the collected personal data will be kept only for the minimum period necessary for the purposes that motivated its collection or subsequent processing.

TO WHOM CAN WE TRANSMIT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

Eventually, CARDIOID may have to share some of your personal data with other recipients, which include:

a) Organizations and/or companies affiliated with CARDIOID, as long as they respect an equivalent policy regarding the protection of personal data.
b) Public entities to which CARDIOID is legally obliged to provide information, namely the DGCI – General Tax Control Entity.
c) Subcontractors who provide certain services related to your personal data under the coverage of a subcontract and for the sole purpose of providing technical assistance to CARDIOID, which include, but are not limited to, website hosting providers, website providers email marketing services and invoicing software supply companies.
d) The competent authorities to which CARDIOID is legally obliged to disclose information during legal proceedings or to detect technical and/or security problems, such as legal entities or competent Control Authorities.

HOW CAN YOU OPPOSE RECEIVING CONTACTS FOR MARKETING PURPOSES?

Within the scope of the consent provided by you, CARDIOID may promote, in particular, actions for the dissemination of new products or services, via telephone, email, post, SMS, MMS, or any other electronic communications service.

If you do not wish to have your personal data processed, you may object, at any time, to their use for marketing purposes, sending informational communications or inclusion in lists or information services.

For this purpose, you should contact CARDIOID at the following email address [email protected], clearly and unequivocally demonstrating this intention, or you can also use the “Unsubscribe” option available at the end of the communications made via email. CARDIOID will respond, immediately, in writing, confirming the execution of the requested action.

CONFIDENTIALITY

We are committed to keeping your data safe, so we apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security that is adequate for the risk of keeping your personal data on file.

However, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of the information transmitted through our website, namely by using public networks in the transmission of data.

We also respect the confidentiality of your information. As such, we do not sell, distribute or otherwise commercially make your information available to any third party. In light of the above, CARDIOID undertakes to keep your information confidential in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable legislation.
