Our company was born out of Physiological Computing research carried out at Instituto Superior Técnico (University of Lisbon), studying ECG signals for biometric purposes, on the premise that each cardiac signal is unique. In 2014, we launched CardioID and have been integrating ECG biometrics in several every-day life objects ever since.
CardioID is an industry-recognized brand, having developed multiple collaborative projects aimed at integrating technology in diverse environments and industries: automotive, insurance, passenger and cargo transportation, critical facilities, and hospitals. The company has earned awards in several categories of innovation and entrepreneurship in Portugal, Belgium, and Germany.
The company’s R&D&I genesis is present in everything we do: we bring our knowledge to provide our customers with unique answers to complex problems related to security (biometrics), health and wellbeing of cardiac patients, or even workers who need active surveillance for safety reasons, such as demanding conditions or dangerous environments.
