CardioID Technologies’ CardioWheel project was selected under the EIT Health RIS Innovation Call 2022, a European Union initiative that supports the development of innovative solutions in the healthcare sector. CardioWheel was one of 20 projects selected among 89 applications, and one of only six from Portugal (Marketeer, in Portuguese).
The EIT Health RIS (Regional Innovation Scheme) aims to foster healthcare innovation in emerging European regions, providing financial support, mentoring, and access to collaborative networks connecting clinical, academic, and industrial partners.
This support represented a significant international recognition for CardioID and its CardioWheel product, reinforcing the company’s position in the digital health and medical device markets. It was a decisive milestone in advancing the medical certification process of CardioWheel, enabling CardioID to progress with the regulatory steps required for clinical validation and to prepare for market entry while meeting high standards of quality, safety, and performance.
Through this project, CardioID strengthened collaborations with clinical centers and research institutions, expanding its visibility within the European health innovation ecosystem and opening new opportunities for partnerships, funding, and strategic growth in the field of cardiac biometrics and continuous monitoring.
